Haliburton / Minden

The local organizing committee, Communities In Action, has worked with other local organizations, residents, schools and councils to create the Minden Active Transportation Plan and the Haliburton County Cycling Master Plan. Through a number of small grants, they have managed to work with local schools to assess the walking and cycling routes to school, develop presentations for local municipal councils, host focus groups and transportation demand management workshops, completed a ‘Walk Bike and Be Active’ map for Minden, and helped draw up plans for an off-road trail to connect downtown Haliburton to schools, the medical centre and other local destinations.
