Canadian Walkability Master Class
The Canadian Walkability Master Class was inspired by the successful Walkability Roadshow
that worked with ten Canadian communities in 2007, culminating in the results being presented
at the Walk21 Toronto 2007 conference. See the Best Practice section for the detailed
Case Studies that resulted from the Walkability Roadshow.
With funding support from Transport Canada’s Moving on Sustainable Transportation (MOST) initiative, Green Communities will work with the following Canadian cities: Hamilton, Ontario; Kelowna and Metro Vancouver, British Columbia; and Whitehorse, Yukon.
The project's objective is to support the implementation of active and sustainable transportation policies and plans
through a step-by-step process that includes inspiring political and senior decision-makers, training professionals,
engaging the public and providing international expertise and ideas to specific walkability issues and opportunities.
